Apps Not Installing - Error Code 0x80070002

Hi,

I recently bought an Acer Aspire V5 112P and I'm having loads of issues downloading/updating apps. For example, I was told that 22 updates were available including Netflix, 'Mail, Calender & People' and Bing News, but all of them had the message 'Something happended and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again. Error code: 0x80070002' when I accepted the downloads.

It's really annoying so any help with this would be very much appreciated, honestly don't understand why it's doing this as I literally bought it 7 days ago!

Cheers

Do you have an antivirus program running when trying to download & install?

I think so, I guess it will be McAfee which came with the notebook. Do I need to turn this off when downloading?

    Thanks

Some have reported success by temporarily disabling AV software. Some not. It's worth a try. Also, if you have the option of simultaneously downloading + installing, try that too if you haven't already.

    Thanks Jack,

I've diabled the AV software and still no joy, but not sure what you mean by downloading and installing at the same time?

It's meant even the Big News app won't work now which is annoying, so will have to take it back to PC World if it continues.

What I mean by 'simultaneously' is instead of saving the installer files you're downloading to be manually run by you at a later time, allow them to open or run at the same time they are downloading. If this doesn't work, all I can suggest is googling the error code from time to time and see if any new workarounds have been found. It seems to be a fairly common and frustrating issue.
