is changing ram on new V3 771-6865 I purchased for $394 on amazon twp days ago easy to switch out?

    yes, just remove the hdd cover, it's an easy job

    what is hdd cover?

    It is the big piece of plastic that you can unscrew from the bottom of the computer.

    dont want to get caught up with problems othesr apparently having updating ram on their laptops, like removing 24 screws and such difficulty reaching ram.  this is our third acer and loved them all. thanks

    when ordering the ddr3 1333 so-dimm windows 8 is not mentioned so where can i find some ram running windows 8

    yes, they are all compatible with windows 8 as far as i know

    the site u suggest crucial recommends purchasing 16gb 2x8 ddr3 pc3 12800 for aspire v3 771 6865 but apparently the laptop holds just 8gb memory and suggestions have been made ddr3 1333 sodimm is correct.  whats up?  T U

    r all nine screws connecting hdd cover or r screws inside computer also to be removed to install new ram? thx

    Thanks for additional ram improvement advice went perfectly inserting corsair product.

    After removing nine screws opening new V3 771-6865 laptop to replace 2gb ram slot with 4gb totaling eight noticed lower left corner section of computer empty. How is the section utilized should it be stuffed for utmost performance?   t u

    You can insert another 2.5" SATA harddrive (hdd) there, but you'll need a hdd bracket and (4 + 2 screws) to properly secure the drive. See sticker on the hdd drive bay on the right side for the part number of the hdd bracket needed.

    Next to the drive bay on the left you sould see a smaller mSATA slot were you can insert/screw in an mSATA SSD to speed up your system.
