Except in this case, when it is the answer.  It is nice, it's exactly what the OP was asking for.

You need to look at the Documentation tab on that page.

    CategoryVendorDescriptionVersionSizeDate
App. Guide Acer Kernel Source Code (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) 1 237.7 MB 2013/09/06 Download

Also, let's not try to pull up issues that are months old without a response from the OP, please.

If you need the information, just state that in your own thread please.

Did you try the Drivers page on our website?

    Acer-Tommy, don't do that, that's not nice

the A1-810 does not have any OS or BIOS on the acer site.

for you to be an Acer Technician, and say such a thing.

    OK Acer Tommy.

    I have a question.

Is the link to the Kernal Source Code the same as the factory image that is put on the A1-810 from the factory?

Or is it just the base of the image without all the extras?

And if it is the later is the tablet still useable at that state?

It sounds more to me that he was asking about a Factory ReSet then a Firmware Upgrade/

Excuse my ignorance but I thought the Kernal Source Code was just a base for devolopers to build on?

Not the OS as a whole and useable?

    Thanks: Ricky

I too wondered, after seeing the post, whether this image would be suitable for bringing a tablet back from the dead, given that so many owners seem to have unusable tablets.

Out of curosity of a few here.

PLEASE let us know how it goes, as it doesn't sound like a fully functionong OEM OS.

But instead a base image that may work, But is really mean't for dev's to build off of from.

This being said if it is a fully funtional OS minus some of the Crappy Bloatware that is added to the factory image.

Then they "Acer" has been allowing a lot of us who know how to reflash our tablets ourseleves.

Put ourselves through a lot of greif for nothing!

    Thanks: Ricky

Have to say, given that this is an official Acer forum, I'm really annoyed that none of the Acer techs have seen fit to comment on this, it's no way to treat customers.

i downloaded the zip but it doesn't look like a flashable zip, there's another compressed file (.gz) inside with many files inside. If i put in in the sd and flash the .zip thru recovery will it work?

Any of these new images useful?

Snorkeller, that appears to be simply a driver download, not an OS image ?

I don't know how many have noticed, but Acer has put a lot of the factory image files up on their support site. I see 7 different versions (for different locales) for the A1-810 available right now. Looks like they've been listening!

Checking the image against what was already in my A1-810, looked like the same firmware/OS. After 'updating' looked like only TouchWiz was updated ..

Could these be roll-back images in prepping for the KitKat update, also to ensure JB-4.2.2 is in our tabs before the roll-out?

I am assuming that these are duplicate images of what was on the ( in my case) JB 4.2.2 OS, from new, which is what we have been lobbying for to allow us to rescue "bricked" devices.

Yes, roll-backs. Then again, stock images are also here?
