Attaching G236HL Monitor to Base

Having trouble attaching the base to the monitor itself. I can see how to attach the base to the monitor stand arm (by tightening screw). I can also see that it looks like the base slides into the back of the monitor. However, it looks like I need to force them to lock together, and I am hesitant to do that since the base has metal tabs. Help, please? The rest of the set up... attaching cables, power cord etc. looks straightforward, but this step is left out of the manual and the quick start guide. Many thanks.

Here's what is located in the manual  (please see the attachment).

If you feel that you are not proceeding properly, please contact your local Acer technical support center for assistance.

I have the exact same problem.  Ive dealt with 3 different "Chat Tech's" that tell me to take it to a Best Buy.

It doesnt click into place.  It just "sits" on there.  Every time I go to turn the monitor on, it wobbles.  Its not secure at all.  And outside of taking the monitor somewhere, there doesnt appear to be any real support from Acer.  The manual pic is no help at all.

Im not getting a good feeling about Acer products nor its support.  Its probably my last Acer monitor, thats for sure.

The pieces of the neck "snap" together.

There's no way for me to describe it any better than that.

It may be that you would do better with a monitor that has a single piece neck assembly.

I was nearly at my wits' end, but got my husband to hold the monitor while I guided the base/arm into it,  It took a careful look to make sure all the parts fit into the proper grooves, and then a bit of a push, but it did indeed snap into place.  Whew!

Now if the base were only a little more solid and if there were a way to make the monitor tilt!

I see that several others are having the same trouble as me..  a wobbly monitor.  Since no one seems anxious to help i think that the best course of action os to return the Acer monitor to the store and replace it with a different brand.
