First of all, sorry for my english cause it's not my native langage.

I've just buy the Acer Aspire R7, the notebook is great. I have the version of the Aspire R7 with a 256Gb SSD.
I know that there is a location to put an HDD in addition of my SSD. But in my Aspire R7 at the location of the HDD, there is no rack for set the HDD and connect it to the netbook.

Is it possible to buy somewhere a rack, that i can set a 2"5 HDD on it, and after connect the rack with the HDD to the netbook.

Thx

    Hi Sawdre,

If you had searched the forum you would have found the solution. I had the same question and with the help of Acer and this forum I now have a ssd in the extra hdd slot.

    Anyway, you need two components:

    SATA connector
    part id: 20.M9UN2.001

    caddy
    part Id: 33.M9UN2.004

In the Netherlands Acer doesn't sell those parts themselves but they have preferred sellers. So using those partnumbers ask Acer support where you can buy them. It cost me around 40 euros, say 50 dollars.

    good luck!

By the way, thanks again for your help.

    Hi,

yes you can. An 2,5inch HDD and SSD have the same dimensions and use the same sata connection, so no problem.

    regards,
