eRecovery fails

I have an Acer Extensa 5630Z. The HDD crashed (no important data) so I bought a new one. I have Recovery DVDs (#1 and 2) as well as a System disc, but I can't complete the recovery.

(1) I ran the Recovery #1 and all went smoothly.

(2) After Recovery #2 ran, it gave a message, "Windows cannot find ':\Windows/PLaunch.exe'. Please make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

Needless to say I didn't type the name at all, either correctly or incorrectly. I've also tried to put in the System disc first, but I get the same result when I get to Recovery #2.

When it's all finished Windows fails to start. The hardware is fine as I have been able to install Linux on the system, with everything working. Unfortunately we need to run a Windows program for school.

Should also mention that the discs are original Acer discs, not ones I made. And the computer came with Vista Home Premium so I presume the discs are for that, although the Acer labels don't specify that.
