Using USB flash drive for recovery backup plus driver and application backup

I have a 32 GB flash drive that I have used to create a recovery backup for my Aspire S7 using Windows 8.1. I understand that in creating this backup everything on the flash drive is deleted before backup is created. Can I now use this flash drive for other purposes, e.g. drivers and applications backup, photos, documents, etc., or does this flash drive now have to remain dedicated to the single purpose of being a recovery backup?

    Hi zimmerbob

I'd keep the flash drive as a dedicated recovery backup, and use a new one for drivers & applications.

It's always wise to keep recovery drives, just as recovery drives. Flash memory is pretty inexpensive at the moment!

Thanks very much. Was unsure, but I think I'll stick with your approach since nobody is indicating that to do otherwise is possible or safe.
