Battery was down to 6%, I plugged in power cord and within 1 minute it just blackscreened and no longer had power. I checked all cords, unplugged, removed battery and held in power button with everything unplugged 30 seconds, tried again and still won't start up. If AC adapter is plugged in, holding power button on blue light will flash but stops after a few seconds, no sound or fan. If ac adapter unplugged, nothing at all happens, no lights Laptop is 20 months old :-( Any ideas?

Kandychic, the key phrase here is "no lights." Your machine is not receiving power. You have already tried to refresh the BIOS and battery software by holding down the Power Button when it is not connected, and that didn't work.

Believe it or not, the most likely cause is that there is no power coming from the outlet. After testing the outlet with a lamp to make sure that it works, the second most likely cause is that your power cord and/or power block have failed.

I would take it to a reputable computer shop for testing.

There IS power but doesn't turn on, just the blue power button flashes 5 times then stops.  It's not the outlet as I tried another one and lamp works fine.  I thought when I took battery out completely I had no power but I wasn't holding the power button long enough. It still just flashes blue 5 times and then stops but fan or processor doesn't kick in.
