Win 7 and acer desktop won't boot up

    Could you please provide more information on this?

     

    Does the power supply come on?

    Does the unit light up at all (power button)?

    Do any fans start?

    Does the HDD spin at all?

    Yes, won't power on, black screen, tried alt f10

    Fan comes on, green light solid green, can initially hear it trying to boot up

    OK, it sounds as if you may have a power supply issue, or a motherboard problem.

     

    Firstly, remove all items attached to your computer, including mouse, keyboard  & power lead. Push and hold the power switch on the front of your PC for about 1 minute. Connect the mains power lead only and try to start.

     

    If it still fails to boot correctly, this will indicate, as I've already stated a power supply or mobo problem.

     

    If you can borrow a power supply from another PC and if you're confidant enough, swap them out to see if it makes any difference.

     

    If still nothing, then I'd suggest to take it to a reputable PC dealer for it to be tested.

    When did you purchase the Acer desktop? Most desktops, depending on where you purchase them, have a SMW (standard manufaturer's warranty) of 1 year. If you are still within that one year you can also contact Acer by chat or phone, (800) 816-2237, and see about getting support from them.
