Aspire S7-391-9886 Power Light blinks orange and doesn't boot

I have an S7-391-9886 which is one month out of warranty and I'm having a number of problems with the unit. I was having the screw loose random shutting down and have tightened the screw and seems to have solved that.

Current problem is that often the power light (on left) will slowly blink orange and unit will not boot. If I press the battery button on back it will usually immediately display the desktop. It seems like the computer is alive but the display is off. Then a lot of times I can simply tilt the keyboard up maybe 30 degress and the display will go black. If I lay it down and move it around, the display will sometimes come back on. It's almost like a loose connection.

It's very frustrating to pay close to $1700 for something that doesn't work and the factory will not even respond to my emails and only say it's out of warranty!

Sorry for the problems you are having. I would like to assist with getting your computer set up for repair service. I have sent you a private message requesting additional information.

Even though it appeared to be a mechanical problem, tech support naturally told me to reinstall the operating system which deleted all personal files on the laptop. Then I had to spend two days reinstalling windows 8, windows 8.1, plus a million updates just to find out that the same problem was there.

The laptop acts exactly the same as before, it will not boot and the power light blinks orange even when the battery is fully charged and it will not boot. Sometimes if I lift the keyboard end of the laptop a couple of inches, the display will come on and the power light turns blue but when you let the keyboard down on the table, it goes off and the power light blinks orange.

I have tightened the screws on the bottom of the laptop and that didn't do any good as some people thought this was the cause of the problem but it didn't help.

As many people are reporting the same symptoms, it is apparently not a single issue but a common problem. To say I am upset about spending almost $1,700 for what I thought was a top of the line unit, I now have a 13 month old piece of junk. At this point my only recourse appears to be to write a negative review on Amazon and tell people not to buy the Acer Ultrabook as it has a one year life. With so many people complaining about this problem you would think that Acer would step up to the plate but apparently they don't care about their reputation.
