ok so i'm wondering if anyone with experience with sending in their laptop to acer for repair can help me. so a few weeks weeks ago, my laptop stopped turning on. it wasn't the battery, and it wasn't the charger so i opened a repair case and sent in to acer. i sent it on july 5th, and i had tracking confromation that they recieved it in texas on july 9th. but since then i've heard nothing from them, and when i check my case status it just says "received" does that mean that they even have the laptop? or does that just mean the case is open? i'm kind of confused since i haven't heard anything from them idk if they lost it or what is going on. can anyone shed some light on this?

if you did a request for repair online, it would have given you a Case ID number (typically ends with "U") take that number to note and call tech support. when they ask you for SN or SNID, provide them with the Case ID number instead. they will then be able to look into the case and see exactly what is happening with it

Thanks for asking the question.  I have a Acer Aspire that just quit.  Totally dead.  Can't get my files.   I owned it 4 months.   As it was under warrenty,  I found out that I had to pay to pack & send  via FedEX at my cost to the repair center - which took a week to get there.  It arrived per their email 18 days ago (yes, 18 days) and the only thing the Acer Status shows me that it arrived.  Now that I have been without it nearly a month,  and I still don't know if it will be repaired (another month???),  I am REALLY REGRETTING buying it

Per the answer for the other person, I will phone them with the CASE ID number and see if I can find anything out.
