First of all, what did you purchase already and why doesn't it work? The ones on eBay that you link to will work, but not directly connected to the tablet. You will have to use a USB hub that provides its own power, the tablet doesn't give enough power to the USB port to drive the motor in the drive. It's possible your first try also has that problem and would work with external power.

If you have a USB drive then what you need is a powered hub like the Gearhead . I have a couple of them and they will drive many things.

Yes, between the powered hub and the drive you found on eBay you should be all set.

Sounds like you are in the UK so are a bit more expensive than in US but this should work with any good USB DVD player/burner.

IM from the US lol , so if i order that external , everything would work?

If you are in the US I'd say go for the Gearhead powered hub Pagett linked earlier. I'd also look for either a US or China source rather than UK for the DVD drive, the shipping will be more affordable.

Depends on what "that" is. I use the Gearhead powered hub and have dvd drives from LG and Velocity.
If buying a DVD today, this one is cheap and includes a cable for a seperate power supply but is a reader/player only.
Since DVD players rely on precision optics, I would prefer to buy new.

i was refering to this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/400622794794 , is this one ok? So either one of those two , thats all i need?

I'd go with the one on eBay, it's a DVD reader and CD read/write. It's powered off the USB so will require the powered hub (like the Gearhead) to use it with a tablet. The pair should work great for you. Depending on your tablet model you might need a micro-USB to female USB adapter for the cable to connect the hub.

Depends on what you want to do with it. For general purpose use most any DVD RW drive should work fine, slightly better if it specifically supports dual layer. I'm not familiar with your model, but most All-In-Ones have full power USB ports so you don't need the external power required on most tablets. If your video is capable, you could get a drive that supports Blue Ray, which would allow you to play better videos...
