A110 - is this a deal?

I just got an eMail ad from Acer.  Offers an Iconia A110 for $99.  Regular price stated at $199.  I was tempted then I thought, this looks like they're dumping inventory.  Why?  Because this model is *****, or this model is discontinued.  And, of course we al realize that models come and models go.  Then... I started perusing this forum seeing all the difficulties people are having with them.  Quite surprising to see the number and depth of the problems.  Who can comment on this?

Secondly, this model A110 - is or is not - a candidate for KitKat 4.x?

Thanks for any reply.

As a lifelong lover of Acer it gives me no pleasure to say this but, instead, get yourself a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 16 GB, 8 inch tablet, my wife has one and it beats my Acer Iconia A1-810 in every way and you will not have to wait forever for Android updates.

OK, RoadRunner.  Thanks for chiming in.  I'm reasonably sure they've dropped the price this much because the unit isn't performing.  And, it's time to say, "goodbye". That's what scared me off.  I too am an Acer fan - I install Acers in several businesses I work with and have had fairly decent success.  But this quality and lack of support problem really concerned me - the fact that no one at Acer seems to know or care.  Unless you know the secret of the Facebook trick.

Anyway, I'll continue to search for something of quality as well as decent price.

    Again, thanks for sharing.

I've been buying Acer laptops for years and set up many for friends and friends of friends, am  a relative newcomer to their tablets and I too am disappointed at their lack of support for tablet customers. Have used and set up about a dozen different makes of tablets for others in the last year and the Samsung beats them all, even the mighty Apple and Samsung are good with firmware and Anodroid updates. These days you need to go where the value is, sadly it's not Acer.
