I have flashing lights on my acer 5742 have looked for an answer some say charger some battery

    Good day

     

    1. Does you machine power on?

    2. Which lights are flashing?

    3. Does the light flash on the charger?

    4. Remove battery, plug charger in with battery removed, power machine on, does it power on?

    5. Have you tested another battery..if any?

    6. Have you tested another charger..if any?

    yes does power on

    lights flashing are big button top left power on/  2 lights bottom left one is battery the other i think has something to do with power looks like a lightbulb symbol when charging these are all steady but then they all start to flash and drain the battery

    light on charger does not flash

    without the battery in it will power on but does not stay on

    have tried another charger with same result

    so in short when the lights start to flash it does not charge I can only charge when not in use so have put on make sure lights are not flashing then close the lid so it will charge.
