ACER ASPIRE 4551 PROBLEM

Hi!

 

When i press the power button, the indicator turns into blue, and the processor's fan starts working. But nothing else. There is no blinking on harddrive's indicator, no blinking on wifi's indicator. The screen remains black, and nothing happens. i took out the battery, tried everything that i found on other forums, but none of these solutions worked for me.

 

Every help would greatly appriciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hi drumandbanana!

     

    Not good news I'm afraid! It sounds as if your motherboard may have died. The only solution is a replacement mobo or a new laptop. The only good news is that you can copy the data from the old drive so at least you'll not loose that!

    Thank you very much for the reply. I'll take my laptop to a service tomorrow - i hope someone can do something with it. Are you sure it's the motherboard? I mean what other things can cause this?

    Pretty sure it will be the mobo. All the things you describe are classic symptoms of motherboard failure. There may be a tiny chance that it is the processor, but this is unlikely.

     

    Not aware of anything else that can cause the same types of problems. Possibly BIOS corruption but again unlikely!
