Acer, or other caring folk: Please help me fix my screen resolution!

I own an Acer Predator G5910 dekstop, and I have just installed a new version of Windows 7 on it. My screen resolution is now incorrect, as none of the resolutions available to me will properly align with my display.

I tried to solve the problem:

First try, I attempted to install a video driver to fix my screen resolution problem - and consequently - I recieved this error message during setup: "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". Rest assured, I did run the correct video driver for my NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti video card.

Second try, I downloaded a generic NVidia driver - but unfortunately - I recieved the same error message during setup.

Is there any way to fix my screen resolution? Perhaps ..

a) Restoring my computer using an internal factory reset?

b) Using an alternative video card driver?

c) Another way?

Any comments are greatly appreciated! Thank You!

    Hi please

When you say you've just "installed a new version of Windows 7 on it", have you changed OS from Windows 8 to Windows 7? Or do you mean you used your recovery partition or disks to re-install Windows 7?

Please post back with more information, and I'll see if I can help....

By the way: Reinstalling from your recovery partition/disks should solve the problem

Thanks for your comment! I installed Windows 7 from a disc. (Not a fan of Win 8)

Luckily I have discovered my error... I actually have a differen't video card inside! So I switched the NVidia drivers to ATI and my problems are solved. Rookie mistake.

Well it was nice hearing a reply so soon, I'll be happy to use this forum again in the future. Cheers
