ALT+F10 clarification

I have question regarding ALT+F10 option for V3-571G. I have mentioned model with Windows 8 OEM. ALT+F10 is not working - previous user messed up partitions on GPT disk. I've successfuly restored partitions and Windows image. After that ALT+F10 option is not working. I've found following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqgYe7OcLhA. So my question - is this video true or false ? Recovery for Windows 8 is available only from programs (based on Windows or Acer Recovery) ? ALT+F10 option is only available for MBR disks ?

I'm responding to myself - with bcdedit and custom/customactions commands I was able to restore ALT+F10 key combination to enter Recovery mode of Windows 8. I suppose that this is not configured by default for Windows 8 OEMs on new Acer models.

not sure about newer win8 machines but normally this is in the BIOS options, hit F2 during boot to get to the BIOS config screen, look for an option called 'D2D recovery' (alt+F10), ensure it is 'enabled', save and exit.  also make sure you haven't erased the hidden recovery partition (using diskmgmt.msc it should be the first partition {10-15GB} on disk 0).
