Hello, i have acer aspire v3-571g and there are a few problems with it.
1. Usb 3.0 port doesnt work. It works as 2.0. then i plug my hard drive in i get notification that device could perform faster if plugged in 3.0 port. I have downloaded newest drivers.
2. Wifi works, but sometimes disconnects for a bit, i get limited or no connectivity. Its very frustrating while online gaming or downloading big files, so im forced to use external wifi adapter.

could anyone help me with these problems?

What version of the WiFi driver is installed?

For problem 1, try doing a system restore. You might have installed some software recently that has replaced an important file needed to recognize and run your hardware device. (USB 3.0) Doing a system restore will not delete any personal files like music or videos. Perhaps a few programs though. System restore will tell you what installed progam software you will lose before proceeding so there's no need to worry about unexpected important files suddenly going missing.

Another solution is to check if your hardware is running properly for your USB 3.0 device by going to your device manager. You can find the device manager by searching in "settings" after moving your mouse all the way on the right side of the screen and clicking the search function.

For problem 2, you might have a bad driver. Test for problems on the Network and sharing center by clicking on "troubleshhoot problems" below the dialog box. If a bad driver is confirmed, search for "Network and sharing center" and then go to "Change adaptor settings" to see what the name of your network brand chipset is. Then search online for the offical site for a different driver version to try. Also try unchecking the "turn off this device when possible to save power" option in your network adaptor settings.

Another possible cause is interference by a cell phone close to your PC. Remove any cell phones or other similar moble devices farther away from your PC.

for wifi: i have downloaded the drivers provided from cd i got with laptop, then updated to newer ones from acer website and they both had same problem. Cellphone could be the couse but i find it a bit hard to believe that cellphone could interfere with full wifi signal.

Usb 3.0 probably never worked, so system restore won't help.
i checked Device manager and there are 3 usb controllers which i think are my usb hubs and 6 controllers added by intel drivers. Is USB composite device supposed to be the 3.0 because other two are generic usb hubs.At Location, generic ones share port 1 and have hubs1 and 2 while composite has port 3 and hub 3. When i connect usb flash in one of regular hubs, it's lacation is Location 0 (Port_#0003.Hub_#0001) i don't know if this information if useful, reply if more information is needed.

I dont mind wifi, but i really need usb3.0

Hello, for your wifi problem, try checking if a service called Wlansvc (Wlan Auto config) in the services tab of the task Manager is running or not. If not, right-click the service and select "start". If it's already running, restart the service. See if that helps.

My USB 3.0 driver is the AMD USB Extensible host controller - 001 Microsoft. Do you perhaps have a simular controller name starting with your processor name exp: AMD, Intel? Click on the resourses tab while viewing the drivers properties in the device manager and check to see below if any conflicts are present which could be causing your USB 3.0 device to run incorrectly.

Also when inserting any cables or especially hard plastic casing like thumb drives into your Usb 3.0 port, make sure that you insert your device quickly instead of slowly because if done too slowly your computer will load your device as usb 2.0 opperation instead.

Wlansvc is working  and Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller has no conflicts.

I do need to know specifically which version of the WiFi drivers are installed on the system.

I'm not going to be able to check on versions without that information.

What operating system is on the computer?

Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless network adapter ver. 10.0.0.38

Broadcom netlink (tm) Gigabit ethernet ver. 15.0.1.0

Broadcom virtual wireless adapter ver. 5.100.82.33
one of these should be the one.

Thats odd ... you shouldn't have an Atheros wireless adapter AND a Broadcom wiresless both installed.

Please remove the "Broadcom virtual wireless adapter ver. 5.100.82.33" from Device Manager.

10.0.0.38 is the latest version for the Atheros card under Windows 7.

I'm not aware of any optical media shipping with those systems.

    How is it labeled?

If there's a part number on the CD, can you provide it please?
