I have an Acer extensa 5220 with a Intel celeron 540 1.86 GHZ 533 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache. I want to upgrade the cpu to a faster processor , I bought an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6570 2.1GHz 2MB AW80577GG0452MH 570032-001 Processor. Will it work on the laptop? I hope yes and please any instructions would be very helpful.

cheers

I've had 5220 originaly with M530 1.73GHz. I've successfully replaced it with Intel Dual Core T2370. It's the same FSB (533MHz), but with dual core and Intel Speed Step. This technology allows to change clock rate and save battery - for me was up to 30% longer battery life. The CPU change is quite simple - remove bottom panel, 4 screws for radiator/wentilator and change CPU.  Faster CPU in my opinion will not be utilized properly casue GL960 only supports 533 FSB.
