Acer Iconia A110 won't boot - how to reset?

My Acer Iconia A110 bought in Nov 2012 (still under warranty) won't boot.

It turns on and displays the green acer logo, but just hangs.

Trying to do a factory reset.  Acer support advised:

"Press the reset button which is on the right hand side of the unit at the other end to the power button after turning the unit on."

Perhaps I am being a bit dim, but I can't find the reset button.

There's a tiny hole on the LEFT side, along from the charger and HDMI inlets.  Might it be this?  End of a paperclip into this hole perhaps?

Thanks for any help, in advance.

the hole on the left side of the tablet is the microphone. i am having similar issues (mine hangs on the "Iconia Tab" logo) but i'm finding no help anywhere, it seems like there is no way of reseting the A110. i'm going to look for 3rd party software and try to reset from my PC. i'll post a link if i find anything useful.

Just called the tech line, although the guy did give me the same wrong advice as the online techs, we finally got around to it. while the tablet is off, hold the Vol button closest to the power button and while holding it, press and hold the power button, the tablet will open to a menu and one of the choices is factory reset, it will erase everything and you'll start with stock apps again, but better that than a doorstop.

Hey, Thanks for the post, but your forgot a key step when hard resetting the unit.

    1. Turn unit completely off.

    2. Press and Hold Volume button closest to Power button.

    3. Press and Hold Power button, (key part) Until unit vibrates then release Power button continue to hold the Volume Button only.

    4. Reset menu with droid appears and select appropriate option.

    Thanks for this.

I hve to reboot my A110 as well and I have managed to get the droid to appear with the options.

I can scroll up and down the options by pressing the volume buttons but cannot figure out how to enter on any of them?

I thought it would be by pressing the power button but this isn't doing anything.

    Any suggestions?

It is my understanding that the volume button is used to scroll through the options for reset, then, when you have highlighted the one you want, you hit the power button to select.
