B276HUL: what is the recommended video card?

Hey

I have a NVIDIA 9600GT which lags with my B276HUL (http://www.acer.fi/ac/fi/FI/content/professional-model/UM.HB6EE.A01). The display is connected with a dual link DVI cable. I don't play anything, just lots of browser windows, videos, and so forth. So no need for high-end gaming video card.

What is the recommended graphics card for this monitor? Only for desktop work e.g. multiple browsers, hd video etc.

Thank you.

    Hi Kakkeli!

Your graphics card is suitable for the monitor you have and the tasks you describe. When you say it "lags", can you be more specific? What are the specs of your computer?

Thank you finlux for the prompt reply Smiley Happy

It feels laggish when I for example drag windows, start a HD video or something like that. Just normal stuff in desktop makes the experience feel laggy.

Is there a driver I should install (running Windows 8 64-bit) or something to do?

I know my 9600GT supports the native resolution but can it handle without any slow-downs?

    Thank you

    Hi Kakkeli

This is the latest nvidia driver for your card. Download & install it to see if it improves the lag on your PC. It would also be useful to know what RAM you have & what processor you have - if your PC is underspecced, then that may cause lag!!

If, you believe your PC is highly specced enough to cope with HD graphics and multiple open windows, then it might be worth upgrading your card, but be aware, that depending on the card you chose, you may need to upgrade your power supply too!
