Synaptic touchpad in Aspire One D255E not working after memory upgrade.

  1. The touchpad quit working on my Aspire One (D255E) after I upgraded the memory from 1 gb to 2 gb.  It worked perfectly before the upgrade. I have installed the updated drivers and worked with device manager.  The touchpad recognizes the drivers and accepts them but they fall off after reboot.  I am using a regular USB mouse but liked having the option for the other.  Any suggestions?

    Take the memory upgrade out.

    Does the touchpad work?

Have you attempted to use Fn+F3 to turn the touchpad on/off ?

Yes, the Fn+F3 are working.  I have tried the newest driver.  The only thing I haven't done is to reverse the upgrade and take the memory out.  I may try that.  I'm sure your suggestion to resolve this issue is correct, but I would rather have the extra memory (what a huge difference) than the touchpad.  I think I'll just stick with my USB mouse and trade that for a better running system.  I can't give it up---it's like having a whole new system.  Thanks so much for your prompt reply.
