Hi,

Acer Aspire: NX.RZGAA.002

For no apparent reason, my wireless connection is not working on the aforementioned laptop.

I have a Dell laptop (wireless) which is connecting. (And 2 wired desktops which are also connecting) - same router / modem

The suggestion on troubleshooting states to check the source (which is the same for all 3 (+ at better times the Acer) = 4. and unplug it for 10 etc. which I have done recently.

I cannot find a wifi button (and don't know if there is one) I have pressed <Fn> <f3> several times with no results.

The wireless is visible (is under networks) but cannot connect. There is a big red X going through the computer <-> internet.

I would really appreciate any advice and thank you in advance!

  • Possibly the easiest way to troubleshoot is to place the Acer and the Dell side by side and methodically step through all settings comparing as you go.
Not the most scientific approach perhaps but it's always been successful for me when I'm too tired to think!
If all marries up OK then check your router just in case it is configured to refuse connection to unregistered devices.

Go to the Acer download site for your model and check applications for 'Launch Manager'. If you install this, you should find that the <FN> + <F3> function is reinstated.

I'm experiencing the same red X through my Internet connection. I also received a message that the adapter driver is not connected. Went to Acer support website to download driver. None of the suggested instructions appeared. Still unable to get on line.

    Hi and Thank you both,

D-Link support solved it by: Removing the network and restarting the system.

    I hope this helps anyone.

(I did not have to create a new network / connection.)
