Iconia W3. Frequent screen freeze, black and white screen

I have an acer Iconia W3. Several times a day I pick it up and try to activate it from sleep mode and all I get is a white screen with small black rectangles. Looks like a fuzzy tv screen. I can reboot to (though it takes some time for the reboot to work) or sometimes I can wait it out and suddenly the proper screen just pops up. Anything I can do to fix this problem or is it just a toy piece of junk that can't be relied upon to actually work when counted upon?  Thanks.... Ed

    hi...

You may perform a hardware reset.

To reset your tablet use a small thin object (such as a paperclip) to press the recessed reset button located near the

    MicroSD Card Slot.

When using the reset hole to reset your device, it will be necessary to press the power button to turn your tablet back ON.

Are there any ramifications to the reset? Will I lose anything saved or loaded onto the W3? Also, is this a fix or just something to do every time this happens? Appreciate your time and response.... Ed

    hi..

The above mentioned hardware reset will not affect any data stored on your computer.

This unfreezes the screen but does not solve the problem. Still freeziing multiple times per day (hour).

This is not a process I'm familiar with. Is it difficlt? Do you have a link that takes you through the process step by step? Do you have to purchase another brand of video driver? Thanks...Ed
