    Hi stevewm

To restore your Aspire 5620 back to factory condition, restart your PC and when you see the Acer logo, press Alt & F10 to start eRecovery. Alternatively, click start, all programs, Acer, Acer eRecovery Management, then Recovery.

If your recovery partition is not available, contact Acer support for your region to see if they are still available for your Aspire 5620.

My system came with windows vista..could I possibly purchase a windows 7 restore disk and make that work perhaps?

You can ask Acer support if there are any Win 7 restore disks available for your laptop, but they may only have Vista ones.

If that is the case, you can buy a retail or OEM copy of Windows 7 and download the drivers from the Acer support site. I've checked for you and there ARE drivers for your laptop for Windows 7.

Ah Sorry, my mistake. You have the M5620!

I've rechecked and there are no available drivers for Windows 7.

However, Windows 7 may STILL work, it will be a case of trial & error. If you Google Windows 7 upgrade advisor, this will see if your PC will have any issues with Windows 7.
