Do you have the audio hooked up? - Just about any monitor with speakers should have a small round port on the back near the rest - it's known as 3.5 audio (not to be confused with a possible power port of similar design). This same port has been used for most everything in the past 20 years (from most headphones, to cd players, to most MP3 players and smart phones). So, to utilize the speakers, you'd need to make an audio connection using the proper cord (example) between the monitor and the computer. There should also be a similar port somewhere on your computer (along the edge of a laptop, likely on the front or maybe the side, or on the back-panel of a desktop, possibly on the front as well). Some sound setups have multiple channels that should be color coded - either/or, you'd want the green one. Note - if you already have a connection between the computer and monitor via HDMI, a seperate 3.5 audio cable shouldn't be necessary. After you hook it up, all that's left is adjusting the sound, both from the computer, and on the monitor (the buttons, likely on the bottom right, control several things including volume).

Let me know if I can help further...
