I have an Acer Aspire one running Aspire one (Linux) with arpire mail

I have the system settings set to English (UK) but the @ sign is over the 2 and the " is over the' I think this for US configuration

My question is how do I get them to appear on the keys marked on the keyboard?? ie swap the positions

Either configuration can be considered English (UK).
However '@ over 2' would be the ANSI version (commonly used in US) and ' " over 2' the ISO version (more common in UK).
Check whether you have the facility to switch between ANSI/ISO.
Other than that, I'm afraid I cannot help as I don't use Linux.
