I want to install a 2.5 inch SSD in the empty bay to increase storage as 128 Gb from the Lite-on is too small. When I removed the top I found there is no sata cable!

Any hints help on where to get and where does it plug in once I get one, plus will I have to remove the 128 or try to set as slave? I have a M500 960 Gb Crucial SSD I want to use.

I don't believe that you can put in a second hard drive because you can't get a sata cable for it unfortunately. You can replace your current drive though.

Check out this thread for detail on putting in an SSD: http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/674401-acer-timeline-ultra-m5-38.html

You cannot add a second HDD to the laptop though you have the bay. Some M5 model laptop goes with a DUAL HDD. The casing and motherboard for M5 Medal  will be same depending upon the series extension(481tg) the specification may vary.
