Acer Travelmate P253-E Charging Issues

I bought a Travelmate P253-E about 5 months ego for use in school and for programming, and it has been very useful indeed. However, a few weeks ego, I started having trouble getting the laptop to charge, and I had to turn the charger to a certain direction which seemed to change each time I tried to charge it. Now, I could still use it, but it was slightly annoying. But today I couldn't charge my laptop at all, trying everything I knew worked previously, but with no results. So, does anyone know how I can fix it? Thanks in advance!

    It may be the charger itself. If a friend or a family member has a charger you could borrow, try it to see if it makes a difference. Just make sure the voltages of the input & outputs of the charger are the same, otherwise you may kill your laptop!

    This issue is with the power jack of the laptop. Contact ur laptop manufacturer, so that u cud send the laptop for a service

    I tried this earlier today with a freind of mines charger which is the same type of charger. It worked without problems, so I suppose I'll have to borrow hers until I purchase a new one myself. Thanks for the help!
