Acer Aspire s7-392 Screen Ghosting, Retention, Burn

I have had my Aspire S7-392 for about 3 months and have loved it. However, recently I have been seeing some pretty bad screen ghosting, mainly of the chrome search bar and desktop task bar when looking at a Grey background. It is starting to drive me crazy. I also recently updated to 8.1 but not sure if it is related. Is my screen starting to go faulty? I do not believe it has always been like this.

It has been discussed multiple times on here including with the S7-391. It is not faulty. It is by design due to the fact that Acer are using LCD overdrive to achieve higher contrast from the panels. There is no burn-in, but there is temporary screen retention which fades after a short time. I am not sure if you changed your fonts, window colours etc that could have made it more visible recently. It is also worse if the laptop is very cold. However, while I cannot see your specific unit to see if it's worse than normal, this is certainly a phenomena that occurs from new.

I apologize if it has been discussed before, I came up empty with the search function. Thanks for the response.

No worries. I hope I have at least put your mind at rest about your Ultrabook. Enjoy!
