Windows 8.1 help

I have an Acer Aspire V3 771G, GeForce GT-730M, 6GB ram. When it was just Windows 8, my graphics were good in all the games I was playing from Skyrim to League of Legends. Now, after the 8.1 update, when I try to play LoL, my fps is 3 and lags really bad. When trying to go to the nVidia Control Panel, it gives me the error of "NVIDIA Display settings are not available. You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU."

I've downloaded the latest driver and my computer recognizes it but for some reason the monitor isn't? I'm not sure what to do at this point and wish I never updated to 8.1, can anyone shed some light on this so that I can utilize my laptop?

This probably explains why Microsoft pulled their 8.1 updates for the time being.

after upgrading to win 8.1, my GT750M (in Aspire V5-572G) was completely gone, even the ACER program HWDetection was not able to find it.

I just downloaded and installed the NVIDIA 327.23 Driver SW, which returned the Grafics card.

It now seemd to work OK again.

Checking the games to see if the speed is sill the same is the next thing.

Bottom line: I did not use the driver from the ACER homepage (326.49) but the latest recommended SW from the NVIDIA Website.

I too download that same driver from the nVidia website. And my computer was able to detect it. But it was unable to utilize it. My games such as League of Legends and Skyrim both performed considerably lower than before the 8.1 update. And it was to the point where I just gave up on trying to play them until Microsoft comes up with a solution.

If your games end up performing up to par, let me know what you did so I can try. If it is performing sub-par, I guess all we can do is wait and be frustruated.
