Downloading the latest driver

Wireless LANAtherosWireless LAN Driver10.0.0.225226.3 MB2013/03/18

solved the frequently (1 - 10min) dropping wifi.

However, my wifi still keeps occasionally going to "limited" state (4 - 10 times a day). It's not as much as it used to be at the beginning before downloading the latest driver but it is still annoying that the wifi keeps dropping. There's nothing wrong with the router/modem/connection and I have noticed that other devices are able to have their wifi connected.

I have tried resetting the modem, turning off bluetooth, unistalled the WLAN driver and installed a new one (the latest one).

Looking for a solution or a proper answer to this problem, preferably from a staff or technician of Acer.

Thank you

Did you try 'repair' instead of replace when you downloaded the latest driver? Seemed to work for me.

My post on another thread -

For those experiencing this problem there is a simple fix that took 3 weeks for me to find but I no longer am having issues.

Download the Atheros Wireless LAN Driver form the Acer drivers site, us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers, search by model # (V5-571p) as the seriel number or SNID search box did not work for me. At the bottom of the driver list you will see two Wireless LAN drivers, download the Atheros one. Once downloaded click on the apllication file named setup. Allow the setup program to run and when it asks if you want to replace or repair, you want to 'repair'. That should end your problem.

I did not need to do this but I saw on the same post that gave the above information that if you are still having difficulty download and run the setup file two more times, choose 'replace' the first time and 'repair' the second time.

    Hi,

If the issue persists after updating the driver, you can update the BIOS.

It is better to update the BIOS to fix the wireless disconnection issues with this model.

Here is the web link to download the BIOS update: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_2.17_A_A.zip?acerid=635053962883005296&Step1=ULTRA-THIN&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIREV5-571P&OS=8P1&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6
