If your upgrading from windows 8 choose the first option.

    You need the UEFI Bios.

Just to be clear if your laptop shipped with windows 8 you need to download UEFI bios once installed and rebooted the watermark will be gone.

    Hello!

I have same issue, though I'm using Aspire V3-772G. Just updated BIOS from version 1.08 to 1.13, yet watermark is still there. Also I can't seem to find BIOS changelog, so I don't even know if newer BIOS version was fixing this issue or something else.

    Enjoy,

Latest Bios is 2.23 unfortunately this is not available for v3 772g I would try contact Acer support you need the UEFI Bios which is available for almost every other model.

Make sure your Bios is set to UEFI boot if this don't work I'm all out of ideas.

Use the following steps to change the Boot Mode:

    1. Completely shut down your computer.
    2. Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 to enter the BIOS.
    3. Use the right arrow key to select Boot.
    4. With Boot Mode highlighted, press Enter, and then use the down arrow to select UEFI BIOS.
    5. Press Enter.
    6. Press F10, and select Yes to save the change and exit the BIOS.

If the above steps don't work for you type SLUI from the metro interface and re-enter your product key.

    Me too. v5-571p.....product key????

  • Member Posts: 12 New User

There is an updated UEFI BIOS HERE for this model (v5-571p.) the above steps worked for me I cannot guarantee they will work for everybody basically if there is an updated UEFI BIOS available for your laptop download it install it and this should in most cases remedy the problem, product keys are not always supplied if this is the case for you contact acer support for additional help.
