i have a tablet w510 with docking and 32 gb

after Updating to windows 8.1 the autorotation function doesnt work. the lock button doesnt work and their is no option for autorotation lock in the settings.

i´ve installed the latest driver form acer download page and from Windows update.

then i tried a clean install of windows 8 and again installed Windoes 8.1 and it still doesnt work.

    ----solution for me!!!----

i dont know what happened but i will tell you what i did last:

i have the european version of Windows 8.1 N(without Media Feature Pack)

    1. reinstalled microsoft silverlight.
    2. search for update ---> silverlight update available!---> installed!
    3. reboot
    4. installed "Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8.1" from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40744
    5. reboot
    6. search again for updates---> new updates available ---> installed
    7. reboot!

now camera, autorotation, and all apps work for me. i hope it will help you

    best regards

I didnt disabled it. the button also isnt working. one possibitiy to disable this function is to click on the option where the brightness setting is. but there is no option anymore. i guess something happend with driver or the fimware of the hardware during the update. look at my screenshot. when you click on brightness control you can disable the autorotation but as you can see in my picture there is no button for this any more. i hope you understand what i mean

I have win pro N, so the update helped with the camera and other media related apps. It did however not help with autorotation. But I went into device manager and ask for a driverupdate for a HIDsensor, after a update it went from inputgroup(dont know the excact english name) and into the sensorgroup. That did it for me. I dont know if it would have worked without the media update. I dont think the silverlight part is related.

thanks for the help and the best of luck inthe future.
