Begin by checking your sound settings through the taskbar to ensure the correct output and input devices are selected. Make sure the volume is turned up and not muted, and inspect your keyboard or headset for any physical mute buttons. Next, verify that microphone access is enabled in your privacy settings, and confirm that apps like Zoom or Teams are allowed to use it. Restarting your laptop can help refresh system configurations, and running Windows Update ensures your device has the latest drivers and patches.

My problem is that I've already tried all of this and it didn't help. When I tried to fix the microphone, I removed the speaker icon from my taskbar, which is a black and white cross. Restarting doesn't help.

No, I was able to repair the speakers with ChatGPT, but I still need to restore the microphone.
