Why does my keyboard shortcut for putting the device to sleep constantly stop working ?

It sometimes takes 3 attempts for the screen to stay off or the screen stays off but only the blue light on the power button is visible and shortly afterwards shuts down.

Troubleshooting Acer Spin 314 sleep issues
If your Acer Spin 314's sleep shortcut is failing and the screen won't stay off or the device shuts down, here are some steps you can try:
    1. Resetting the device
Force a hard reboot: To resolve temporary glitches, hold down the Refresh key and Power button for about 10 seconds until the screen or keyboard lights up.
Battery Reset: For laptops with a removable battery, remove it after powering down, hold the power button for about 15 seconds, and then reinsert the battery. If the battery is internal, look for a reset pinhole; turn off the laptop, unplug everything, insert a pin for 30 seconds, then reconnect and restart. If there's no pinhole, disconnect all devices and hold the power button for 1 minute, wait 15-30 minutes, plug in the power, wait for a full charge indication, and then turn on the system.

    2. Checking power settings
Power Plan: In Windows, search for "power plan" and select "Choose a power plan." If an Acer plan is active, change it to "Balanced". Further settings can be adjusted in "Change advanced power settings," such as ensuring the "System Cooling Policy" is set appropriately and disabling "USB Selective Suspend".
Hibernate vs. Sleep: Try enabling hibernation and setting the shortcut to trigger hibernation instead of sleep to see if the problem persists.
Lid Close Action: In Power Options, set the "Lid close action" to "Do nothing" and observe if the issue continues.

    3. Addressing potential hardware/software issues
Drivers: Update your graphics card and other relevant drivers.
Overheating: If the laptop is hot, allow it to cool down.
Check Display: Connect an external monitor to help diagnose if the issue is with the display.
BIOS Update: Install any available BIOS updates.
Corrupted OS: Use tools like diskchk, DISM, and SFC to repair potential OS errors.
Disable "Wake on USB": Some users have found success by disabling "Wake on USB while lid closed" in BIOS settings, although this requires using an alternative method to wake the laptop.
