Acer Swift Go 14 – laptop randomly restarts on its own, even when I am working on important tasks.

I am using an Acer Swift Go 14 (AMD Ryzen 7000 series) laptop, and I am facing a serious issue. My laptop randomly restarts on its own, even when I am working on important tasks.

This problem occurs 3–4 times a week, and it happens without any warning (no blue screen, no error message). It is very frustrating because I lose my work progress every time it happens.

I have updated Windows and drivers to the latest version, but the issue still continues.

Can anyone help me identify the cause and provide a solution?

Is this related to hardware (RAM, SSD, overheating, battery, etc.)?
Or could it be a BIOS/driver/software issue?

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the detailed description. Please try the following steps to isolate the issue:

Disable Fast Startup
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do
- Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable”
- Uncheck “Turn on fast startup” and save changes
Boot into Safe Mode (Windows Recovery Environment)
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced startup
- Click “Restart now” > then choose “Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart`
- On the Startup Settings screen, press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode
- Use the system normally and observe if the restart occurs(Safe Mode will automatically revert after reboot)
Check Event Viewer Logs
- Press Win + X > “Event Viewer”
- Navigate to Windows Logs > System
- Look for “Kernel-Power” or “Event ID 41” entries around the time of the restart
Run Memory Diagnostics
- Press Win + R, type mdsched.exe, choose “Restart now and check for problems”
- If RAM is not soldered (likely 16GB non-soldered), reseat or test with one module at a time
Update BIOS
- Download the latest BIOS installer from Acer’s support site for your exact model
- Run the installer from Windows and follow on-screen instructions

Let us know which step reveals a pattern. If the issue persists in Safe Mode, hardware diagnostics may be needed.

In general, a random laptop restart can be caused by various factors, including a malfunctioning automatic restarting feature, overheating or a broken power supply, faulty RAM, a virus or malware issue, driver difficulties, Windows updates.

Power Issues: Check if the laptop's battery is properly seated and not loose. Test the laptop with a different power adapter and cable to rule out a faulty charger. Make sure the laptop is not set to shut down automatically when the battery reaches a low percentage in the power settings.
