Hello
My computer is a year and a half old and the processor heats up to a temperature of 100 degrees. Intel Core i7 12700F.

The Nitro N50-640 model desktop with the i7-12700F type cpu is the max spec cpu that you can run this desktop with, if your desktop cpu is running and peaks at 100°C temps, then I suggest that you upgrade and use the Noctua NH-U9S chromax.black cpu cooler that has a twin fan option that will be perfect what what you will need and will fit into the Nitro N5-=640 desktop space. So do this as this is all you need to keep the cpu cooler, you don't need to change the cpu. Good luck and hope this helps you out to solve this problem.

The Noctua NH-U9S chromax.black fitting manual, this cpu coolers brackets integrate with the existing cpu fixing that your Nitro has, so it’s a plug and play and very easy to install.

The Nitro N50-640 model desktop with the i7-12700F type cpu that you have is the max spec cpu that Acer fitted and provided a suitable bios for the model B66H6-AD2, do not update to the i9-12900 or the i9-12900K cpu's as this board does not have the appropriate bios to run these higher spec cpu's.

If your desktop cpu is running hot and peaks at 100°C temps, then its cpu cooler is not adequate enough or you need to change the thermal paste of the cpu cooler, but what I suggest that you do is to upgrade and use the excellent dry cpu cooler from Noctua the model NH-U9S chromax.black that has a twin fan option that will be perfect for what you will need for this N50-640 desktop and will fit into the into this desktops space around the cpu. So do this as this is all you need to keep the cpu cooler, you don't need to change the cpu. Good luck and hope this helps you out to solve this problem.

Thank you very much for the complete answers and links.

I will share more information, I reinstalled Windows 11, a clean installation without any other software, and the processor is still at 100 degrees, are you sure that replacing the fan is the solution?

I ask because my line of thought says that perhaps the processor worked for a long time at a temperature of 100 degrees and perhaps as a result of prolonged work at a high temperature, it caused the processor to be destroyed and it got to the point that even replacing the fan will not help, I ask because I am throwing out an idea, a line of thought that is going through my head :-)

You have the best processor for your model already. The suggestion to upgrade your cooling system has worked well for many users with the various PO3 models.

    I can't believe it worked,
I bought the nh-u9s-chromax-black fan and now the CPU temp is 35 degrees
Thanks a lot for the help
It annoys me that the store I bought the computer from installed a "simple fan" instead of the fan the CPU needs
