Hi, I’m thinking of replacing the thermal paste on my E5-575G-55NW as it’s approaching 10 years old. Can anyone please send screenshots of the relevant parts of the service manual? The variant I have includes a dedicated GPU.

    Hi Vanilla66,

I understand you're looking to replace the thermal paste on your E5-575G-55NW, especially since it's approaching 10 years old. While I don't have the specific service manual screenshots, I can share some general guidance to help you with the process:

    1. Preparation: Ensure you have the necessary tools, including a small Phillips screwdriver, thermal paste, isopropyl alcohol (preferably 90% or higher), and a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
    2. Disassembly: Start by removing the bottom panel of your laptop. This typically involves unscrewing several screws. Once removed, carefully detach the panel to expose the internal components.
    3. Accessing the CPU/GPU: Locate the CPU and GPU. These are usually covered by heatsinks. You'll need to unscrew and remove the heatsinks to access the thermal paste.
    4. Cleaning: Gently clean off the old thermal paste from both the CPU/GPU and the heatsink using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
    5. Applying New Thermal Paste: Apply a small, pea-sized amount of new thermal paste to the center of each chip. When reattaching the heatsink, the paste will spread evenly.
    6. Reassembly: Carefully reassemble your laptop by reversing the disassembly steps. Ensure all screws are tightened properly and the bottom panel is securely attached.

Thank you for the steps! I’ll wait to see if anyone has the service manual in case it mentions any small details like torque values or thermal pads I need to watch out for.
