    Hi @tjtonytj ,

    On the Predator Helios 18 PH18‑93VM, the USB‑C ports support USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), but not the higher‑bandwidth USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 mode (20 Gbps).

    Gen 2 vs Gen 2×2 – key difference:

    • USB 3.2 Gen 2: single 10 Gbps lane over the USB‑C connector.
    • USB 3.2 Gen 2×2: two 10 Gbps lanes combined for 20 Gbps total, requires both host and device to support the 2×2 mode.

    If you connect a Gen 2×2‑capable device to your Helios 18, it will still work but will link at Gen 2 speed (10 Gbps).

    Thank you so much; that explains why the SSK USB SSD I purchased expecting 2100/MB; I got less than half; thanks; I'm still learning all the new standards (to me that is) that comes with the Helios 18;

    So if I want flash speed, I need to go Thunderbolt 4…? Again, thank you for your help..TJ

    Yes — the PH18‑93VM’s Thunderbolt 4 ports, when paired with a TB4‑certified NVMe drive enclosure and TB4/USB4 cable, provide full PCIe 3.0 ×4 bandwidth (~2,700–3,000 MB/s).
