Acer v5 factory reset issues, and complaint etc.

Dear Acer

I bought an Acer v5 122p (AMD quadcore) for my girlfriend, it's a great looking machine and a great buy.

Though, i just wanna say... Why oh why do you put sooo much ***** on the machine from first start, forcing it to bog down from the very beginning. I know it can be faster, but the fact that one has to sit and uninstall all the useless thing you have included on it is a painful and an absolute annoyance.

We have had it for 1 day and something went wrong while making the re-install USB. So... we had to re-cover the whole computer. Reset to factory settings.... THIS HAS NOW TAKEN 3 HOURS and it's' only at 14%.

Seriously!!! This is an absolute disgrace. Why does it have to be this way. Your making a customers doubt your skills and worst of all the functionality of the machine. My Surface Pro takes less than 20 minutes to completely re-wipe and reset, so it is you who have done something to the V5 making it be like this. It's not natural and not in the tone of what Windows 8 normally is.

In short. I have computer skills so i know how things can be, my girlfriend doesn't and she already feel that there is something wrong the machine making her doubt if she really wants it (will it last, what if i have to do it again... etc). If i was you guys, i would see that as a huge problem.

I guess i'll have to return to you in 10 hours when the machine has made it back, if it does. The fact that one fears that a brand new computer will make it or not, is a disgrace.

I seriously don't know what to say. I just hope that the machine is oki when reset.

It took 7 hours to reset.

Computer was still slow, so am doing a complete reinstall of windows 8.

Hope that works. 15 hours of fixing with a brand new computer. Smiley Sad

Now on 24 hrs and still no working computer.

Have now installed Windows 8 from scratch but it wont update and ive discovered that the VGA driver that Acer supplies seriously bogs down the computer and touch screen capabilities.

Also i am curious to know why the Acer bootloader is soo slow, the computer takes over 30 seconds to boot. My old Dual core computer from 2008 running W8 Pro takes less than 10 seconds.

Is the V5 just cursed or?

    Can anyone help????

Completely re-installed everything. Fresh with Windows 8. Drew out the serial with a program.

Everything works now, added a touchpad driver from a Samsung Series 9 and it works better than anything Acer had recomended. Changed the screen driver aswell, took the one out that Acer recommended and let Windows 8 find it thru updates and it works better.

It took 2 full days to get this brand new computer (out of the box) to be as good as it could be. No thx to Acer.
