Your Predator Helios Neo PHN16-72 can be upgraded to 64GB ram at 2x 32GB DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type modules, have a look at Crucial RAM HERE but these laptops have been know to be upgraded beyond 64GB and up to 96GB at 2x 48GB DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 but at these capacities the ram runs at the 4800MT/s speed. Crucial also has their Gen 4 x4 lane type M.2 SSD that are very quick, so you can consider updating to those drives also. Note: that in windows there is no capacity limit as the GUID (GPT) format that Win-11 uses has a limit of 8 petabytes which 1 petabyte equals 1000TB, so you cant exceed that in your laptop.

If you want to see a good M.2 SSD guide, have a look at the Tom's Hardware 2025 benchmarking guide for best performing 1TB, 2TB and 4TB M.2 SSD drives that they have tested, and choose from there.

Use the Crucial kit here, that is the appropriate ram for your laptop and will operate 100% on your PHN16-72 model laptop Crucial 64GB Kit (32GBx2) DDR5-5600 SODIMM, btw I've got the previous PHN16-71 13th Gen cpu model and I've upgraded my laptop to 64GB (with this Crucial kit Crucial 64GB Kit (32GBx2) DDR5-4800 SODIMM) and it works perfectly, no crashes or BSODs and it works perfectly. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

For your PHN16-72 with the i9-14900HX cpu I recommend the 64GB kit at 2x 32GB DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type ram and I only recommend that you use the Samsung 990 Pro NVMe M.2 + Heatsink drive, as they are the best, quickest and best supported drives on the market, as I also use it in my PHN16-71 and it works perfectly with the Magician software that has a cloning part called Data Migration. So use all these components as that will be the best for your PHN16-72 laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Its best to have the last PHN16-72 bios version 1.17, I don't know why you are using Linux ubuntu, as I don't think that you can update the bios in Linux, as the PHN16-72 bios is a windows .exe file and it can't be update in Linux only in windows OS.

Sorry as I don't know anything about that Linux OS, so I cant tell you anything, I only use Win-11 as its the best OS for these laptops and that is what they are designed for. So i can't give you nay advice on Linux but I have experience in the ram and the Samsun 990 Pro M.2 SSD drive.
