Hi guys i bought a new aspire 7 a715-79G along with it i didnt received any spare m.2 screw, so can anyone tell me the size of screw so that i can purchase it by myself.

2nd question - along with laptop i got power brick of 150W (20v X 7.5amp) its brand is chicony and model is A18-150P1A, im looking for spare charger or for future knowledge, i tried finding same online but they are so much expensive and this charger is not listed on acer accessories section, so my question is can i use another brick like 120w or 135w, if yes then what is pin size of my charger as i was not able to find it online. Thanks guys lysm❤️

    Hi @Sam8782 , congrats on the new A715-79G! 👋

You’re absolutely right—models like this tend to ship without the extra M.2 screw. For the second SSD slot (typically used for a 2280 NVMe), you’ll need an M2 x 3mm screw. A flathead or panhead works fine, and a washer can help with stability if the standoff is a bit loose.

As for the charger, the original 150W Chicony A18-150P1A (20V x 7.5A) uses a 5.5mm outer / 1.7mm inner barrel plug (center-positive). That’s a common spec across newer Aspire 7 units. While 120W or 135W adapters might power the laptop in low-load conditions, they’re not ideal for gaming or anything that stresses the GPU—so using a lower wattage brick isn’t recommended long-term unless you’re in a pinch.

OEM brands like Chicony or Delta are safe bets if you're sourcing a spare. Hope this helps!

Use an M2 x 3mm flat-head screw for mounting M.2 SSDs—standard across Acer laptops and easily available online. Your Chicony A18-150P1A charger delivers 150W (20V × 7.5A) with a 5.5mm x 1.7mm barrel pin, which is typical for Acer gaming models. Avoid using 120W or 135W chargers, as they may lead to battery drain or performance issues
