Do NOT USE Acer Care Centre 80% Battery Charge Limit as it damages your battery and reduces its charge efficiency, always keep your battery charging with the adapter 24/7 and keep your battery at 100% charge when playing games and using your laptop as a desktop. The Nitro V16 laptop has a 135W / 19.5V/6.92A adapter and a Typ.59Wh 3720mAh battery that should keep this laptop performing perfectly when playing games and for normal usage.

If your Nitro V16 is the model ANV16-41 make sure that you have the latest bios installed as that has an "Update Acer Battery Adaptive Charging function" fix with its last bios update version 1.09 for the AMD laptops. Also make sure that you have the latest Nvidia GeForce Experience software so that you can download/install the latest Nvidia game ready driver for your GeForce RTX™ 4060 and make sure that you always Clean Install all new Nvidia drivers and play all games through the Nvidia GeForce Experience software settings for best gaming performance, as doing all the above will ensure that your Nitro V16 will perform at its best performance in gaming and within its battery and adapter supplied by Acer. Good luck and hope this help you out.

Hi, my version of the bios is 1.10 and all drivers up to date. Still the battery drains :/

@Jan_AAA ignore the people that say this laptop should not drain with a miserable 135w charger. this laptop gpu and cpu combined power can easily exceed even 140-150w when gaming at maximum power settings. the only way we can hope to fix this is from acer increasing the maximum wattage the laptop can take from the charger through a bios update.

And after contacting acer support many times, they finally said they're looking for a solution, but don't know when it could get released.

@Ash22 So there is no solution till now? I have been playing cyberpunk 2077 an in an hour it has gone from 100 to 85%. Im a little bit concerned about this. Is useful to contact the acer support? i cannot contact them through email idk, the web seems to be bugged for me. Would buying a more powerful adaptor be a solution? or just chargind from the port + usb c?

@Jan_AAA yes as of now there is no real solution for this problem that doen't compromise performance to save on battery. evry nitro v15 and v16 is affected. and yes, the email site is very bugged.

buying a more powerful charger wont help much if not at all. i bought a 180w charger and it didn't change anything, and all the people that tried with 230w say it doesn't work either. the laptop just refuses to draw more that 135w from the charger, always taking the rest from the battery. some say it helps reduce the drain a bit, but it may cause the laptop to heat a bit too mcuh.

if you want to contact acer support i think it could be useful. they wont be able to solve the problem, but at least you'll make even more pressure on this issue and maybe they'll reveal more information on an upcoming fix

I just received my new ryzen V16 nitro with a rtx4060 last week and have noticed a small drop in battery power

TBH the FPS gain you get by putting it in performance mode isn't much and turbo mode is even less, I do all my gaming in balance mode and I'm lucky if it drops 10 fps so I'm fine with that ,after about 2 hours of gaming my battery dropped from 80% to about 76% playing Days Gone on max settings on balance mode ,was still getting great fps but as others have said we should not be dropping any battery at all anyway.

All my other gaming laptops never dropped battery, in fact i remember you could still use them with battery removed

@Muzzagod yes if you're fine playing in balanced mode then good for you, but many of us bought this laptop to use it to the limint and we expect to be able to do so without this useless limitaion. you may not care about those 10fps you lose and that's ok, but they make the difference for many of us.

and also we need to raise our voice against this becuase other companies are starting to see they can get away with this and that would be a disaster.

@Ash22 @Muzzagod thanks for all the comments. I will send a ticket and hope to get a reply. I think i will play with balanced mode and max fan speed so it doesn't heat up to much.

Nothing to do with this, but i have noticed some buzzing randomly, one guy told me that is normal but i'm not sure. What's your opinion on this?

@Jan_AAA thank you for reporting this too, it's really important if we want to get it fixed.
unfortunately i don't know anything about that buzzing as i've never experienced it.

do you know from where it could be coming from?
