Does Acer Aspire A515-57G (RTX 2050) support 90W USB-C PD charging?

Hi everyone,

I have an Acer Aspire A515-57G with an RTX 2050 GPU. My original 90W barrel-tip charger stopped working due to an internal circuit fault, and unfortunately, it could not be repaired. I’ve also been unable to find a genuine or trusted replacement.

I tested a 65W USB-C charger of a dell laptop from a friend, and it powers the laptop successfully — but I’d like to know if this model supports 90W USB-C PD charging, especially for better performance under heavy usage or gaming.

Can anyone confirm if the USB-C port on this model supports higher-wattage PD charging (e.g., 90W), or is it limited to 65W max?

Thanks in advance!

The laptop claims a strong battery life and it ships with a 90W adaptor. It's a Type-C charger, so you can use the phone's charge to power the device. The laptop runs Windows 11 Home and comes with nearly no bloatware. The Acer Aspire A515-57G is a solid laptop for productivity, creativity as well as gaming needs.

    Thank you for the response.

However, just to clarify — my original charger was a 90W barrel-type adapter, not USB-C.

I tested a 65W USB-C dell laptop charger (from a friend's laptop) , and it works, but I want to confirm whether the USB-C port on this model can accept up to 90W PD input, as I'd prefer to replace the charger with a USB-C PD alternative.

Can someone confirm the maximum supported PD wattage over USB-C on the A515-57G?

Getting a higher wattage charger is fine but the laptop can get only 65W maximum.

Hi, for laptops with a dGPU card use a 100W laptop USB-C charger with a fixed 5A thick USB-C cord, not a universal phone charger, a very reliable charger available at Amazon in your country is the 100W Asus ROG USB-C charger: https://rog.asus.com/power-protection-gadgets/chargers-and-adapters/rog-100w-usb-c-adapter-model/
