Hi everyone,

I'm Ajay and I'm new for here. My Acer laptop is plugged in but not charging. The battery icon shows "plugged in, not charging." I’ve tried different chargers and outlets with no success.

Regards

Hi Ajay, welcome to the forum!

To help you accurately, we’ll need a few more details:

    • The exact Aspire laptop model (e.g., Aspire 5 A515-45)
    • Your current Windows version (10, 11, etc.)
    • The type of power adapter you're using — is it a barrel-style plug or a USB-C charger?

Different models and adapter types behave very differently when it comes to charging logic and BIOS-level control, so knowing this will help us avoid guessing and give you precise guidance.

    Looking forward to your update!

    Hi Ajay,

An old or faulty battery can prevent the laptop from charging properly. Check battery level: Plug in your Laptop for at least 15 minutes, and then check if the charging indicator lights up to show it's charging. If not, the battery might be dead or malfunctioning and time to replace the battery.
