So usually when I plug in my laptop it'll just randomly bluescreen. I've done driver reinstalls and resets to my laptop too but that doesn't help, and it's ONLY when it's plugged in, when it's not it won't crash at all. I have a single 32GB ram stick installed and switched back to the 2 8GB ones the laptop came with but it still blue screens when plugged in. Also when plugged in and idle, the cpu would sometimes hover at 4.5 ghz when all im doing is watching youtube or calling on discord and the temps would also reach 80c-92c when idle

Some of the blue screens have said something like , ntsokrnl, hypervisor, fltmgr.sys, attempted to execute from non executable memory, and a handful more that have happened (I couldn't find the name since it was before I reset my laptop)

I also bought the laptop off of my cousin since he got it sometime last year but he doesn't use it anymore and the BSOD's started happening around a month ago

My laptop is a Predator neo 16 (PHN16-72)

RTX 4060

i9-14900

32GB Ram

1 Terabyte NVME

Bios version 1.17

The PHN16-72 that you have should not be giving you any BSODs if its setup properly, as this is a very high end Acer laptop. These laptops perform allot better with at least 64GB total ram as they can operate with higher capacity ram than 64GB, as a community member is running his laptop on 96GB ram.

Make sure that the 1x32GB ram module is a DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type ram module, as that is the proper spec ram for this laptop, if its not, then change the ram as that could be causing the BSOD also. I suggest that you upgrade the max ram to 2x 32GB DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type ram, get the Crucial Micron ram as their ram works 100% in these laptops, as I'm using their ram in my PHN16-71 at 64GB 2x 32GB DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 which is suitable for my 13th Gen cpu and it works perfectly with absolutely NO BSODs.

The "ntsokrnl, hypervisor, fltmgr.sys, attempted to execute" errors are all because of corrupted drivers issues. The best solution (seeing that you got this latop from your cousin and his files are on it that he doesn't want) is for you to do a Clean Install of Win-11 version 24H2 and update it to its last OS build: 26100.4484 version, as then all these BSOD errors will stop.

Construct a Win-11 version 24H2 bootable USB with and use the Rufus 4.9 guide to construct this bootable USB and then put the Intel RST version 19.5.7.1058 driver for the PHN16-72 on the same USB, as you will need this driver to install the M.2 SSD drive @ "Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver" so that you can continue the Win-11 installation.

Afterwards and once the Win-11 OS is installed and its not giving any BSODs, install the latest bios for the PHN16-72 which is the bios version 1.17, then install the NVidia App and make sure that the latest GPU NVidia Game Ready driver is installed through that app. Also, make sure that your , set the PHN16-72 in bios that it only uses the NVidia gpu and NOT the Intel cpu graphics, also do this is Predator Sense too. As doing all the above will ensure that your PHN16-72 laptop is properly setup. Good luck and hope this helps you out, if you have any other questions, don't hessite to ask.

Yeah I think i have corrupt drivers since I already have a crucial ddr6-5600 ram stick. I've also reset the laptop twice but through the "Reset PC" option in windows settings. I'll do the usb method soon and I pray that'll fix it. Thank you so much for your response :))

High idle temperatures of 80-92°C on the Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-72) are not normal and indicate a potential issue. While this laptop is designed to handle high temperatures during performance, consistently reaching such high temps at idle suggests a problem with cooling, potentially a lack of airflow or degraded thermal paste.

    Troubleshooting steps:
    1. Check Fan Speed and Profile:
Ensure your fan is set to a higher speed in PredatorSense (e.g., Max or Custom mode).
    2. Improve Airflow:
Elevate the laptop on a cooling pad or stand to improve airflow, and make sure vents are not blocked.
    3. Consider Repasting:
If your laptop is older than a year, the thermal paste may be dried out. If you are comfortable, consider reapplying thermal paste. Otherwise, take it to a service center.
    4. Check for Dust:
Dust buildup can hinder cooling. Use compressed air to clean vents.
    5. Limit Performance:
In Windows Power settings, reduce the maximum processor state to prevent the CPU from constantly running at full speed. Consider using Quiet Mode in PredatorSense.
    Why this is important:
High idle temperatures can lead to reduced lifespan of components and potential performance throttling.
While the laptop is designed to handle high temperatures during intensive tasks, consistently running hot at idle is not ideal.
    Additional Information:
The Predator Helios Neo 16 is designed to run hot, and its CPU can withstand high temperatures before automatically shutting down.
However, maintaining ideal temperatures for longevity is still recommended.
