Good Day, everyone! I have an issue with my laptop Acer Nitro ANV15-51, when I play games and the charger is plugged in, the screen is randomly blacking out, but the laptop is still working, only the screen is black. Do you know how to fix this? I already tried all the videos on YouTube, and all the drivers are updated. I also went to the store where I bought my laptop, but they couldn't fix it. It is only happening when the laptop is charging. If you have a solution to this problem, pls email me or reply to this in the comments. Thank you so much, and God bless Y'all.

Hi Naayy17, thanks for flagging the issue. The screen blackout only when plugged in during gaming suggests the system’s switching power states too aggressively—most likely due to outdated Embedded Controller (EC) firmware or a misbehaving GPU driver.

    🔧 Recommended Fixes:

    1. Update BIOS to v1.26 (released April 17, 2025) — this includes an EC firmware update that stabilizes power transitions while gaming and plugged in.
    2. Uninstall your Nvidia driver using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)
      • Run it in Safe Mode, choose Clean and Restart
      • Reinstall the latest Nvidia driver from the official site (skip Windows Update version)
    3. Upgrade to Windows 11 24H2, if you haven’t already. This model supports it, and Acer’s driver stack is tuned for the latest build. If you’re still on 23H2 or older, some power management features may cause issues.

Let us know if the issue persists after these steps—we can dive deeper into power plan sync or hybrid graphics toggles if needed.

A black screen while gaming on an Acer Nitro ANV15-51, especially when plugged in, can be caused by a few factors, including overheating, driver issues, or power-related problems. Troubleshooting steps include updating drivers, checking power settings, and verifying game integrity. If the issue persists, it could indicate a hardware problem, requiring professional assistance.
    Troubleshooting Steps:-

    1. Update Drivers:
Ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can do this through the Device Manager or by visiting the Acer support website or the NVIDIA website for the latest drivers. Sometimes, using a driver uninstaller tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove old drivers before installing new ones can be helpful.
    2. Check Power Settings:
Adjust power settings to prevent the laptop from going into sleep or hibernation mode too quickly during gaming. Access Power Options in the Control Panel and adjust the settings to your preference.
    3. Verify Game Integrity:
If the issue is specific to a particular game, check the game files for corruption or try reinstalling the game.
    4. Monitor Temperatures:
Overheating can cause the screen to go black. Use tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming. If temperatures are high, clean the vents and ensure proper airflow.

    5. Test with External Monitor:
Connect the laptop to an external monitor to see if the issue persists. If the external monitor works fine, it might indicate a problem with the laptop's screen or its connection to the motherboard.
    6. Check for Software Conflicts:
Boot into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, a recently installed program might be causing the conflict.
    7. BIOS Defaults:
Try loading BIOS defaults. This can be done by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds to shut down, then tapping F2 while powering on to enter the BIOS. Press F9 to load defaults, then F10 to save and exit.
    8. Hardware Issues:
If the problem persists after trying all the above steps, it might be a hardware issue (e.g., faulty graphics card, loose connections). In this case, it's recommended to seek professional help.

start by adjusting the power mode through Settings > System > Power & Battery, setting it to Best Power Efficiency to minimize power draw fluctuations during gameplay. Next, open NitroSense and disable Turbo Boost under CPU settings, which helps stabilize voltage and reduce thermal spikes. It's also recommended to update the BIOS from Acer’s official support page, as it includes fixes for GPU and power-related issues. Finally, ensure that your GPU drivers are installed directly from Acer’s website.
