Iconia W500 Hard Drive and Operating System

I just purchased a refurbished Iconia W500 online and failed to read the fine print at the end of the post stating that the hard drive had been removed, and that the hard drive and operating system were the responsibility of the purchaser.  I have gone into the Acer website to see if there was a recovery CD available, but wwhen I entered the unit serial number I received a "no RCD available for this serial number" response.

Any advice on a correct replacement drive and how I may acquire a recovery disk would be most appreciated!

How screwed am I?

    Hi tssea283,

The W500 uses a msata ssd card. These are widely available.

Also with operating system, I would try and contact Acer Support and see if you are able to purchase recovery cd's.

Otherwise you might be able to load your own operating system. You will be able to download the drivers

from the support site. Hope this helps.
