Updated issue (Battery report attached): Battery not getting recognized in my acer v15, how do I fix

My acer v15 battery is not detected it was working just fine and the laptop turn on only when plugged in , this issue came when I was working on my laptop while charging and electricity got cut off , I don't think it's hardware issue cause it was working just fine as well as when I plug in for few seconds the battery led lights up and turns off again, based on this what do u think is the problem, I don't think battery or hardware is damaged cause when I do turn on after reset the battery gets recognized for few seconds showing 0% charge and charging but disappears again, I think it's something related to battery force lock or something these are my assumptions, how do I fix it ?

By the way this issue occurred after I was working on my laptop with charging everything was normal and fine, but the electricity went out and my laptop instantly turned off too. I can run my laptop on plugged in but no battery is detected, I don't think there is driver issue too , and after battery reset like holding power button, the battery led light gets turned for few seconds and gets turned off as well as after I turn on laptop fast instantly, battery icon at taskbar gets displayed with zero and charging for few 20 to 30 seconds and disappears again.

This happens when a power loss (like your blackout) interrupts charging mid-cycle. The battery’s internal controller enters a protective lockout and stops responding to the EC handshake, which explains:

Battery appears for a few seconds, then disappears.
No consistent telemetry in the battery report.
LED flickers post-reset, then stops.

It’s not a driver issue and likely not board damage, but the battery controller isn't reinitializing. If it's an older pack, this can happen suddenly even after good performance.

Replace the battery with a verified genuine unit—preferably same part/model.
Once installed, let it charge to 100%, fully drain until shutdown, then recharge. This resets telemetry and allows full EC handshake.

I could not do the cmos step but battery is finally getting detected but its stuck at 2 percent and when I used batteryinfoviewer software it said 0 in rate meaning no current is being received by battery

Thanks for confirming the symptoms, EnTs03. At this stage, the behavior—brief recognition, LED flicker, 0% stuck charge, no current flow—strongly indicates that the battery's internal controller is locked. This usually happens after an abrupt power interruption mid-charge.

Software fixes and CMOS resets won’t help here. The only solution is to replace the battery with a verified compatible unit.

Once installed, you must perform the Full Charge Cycle routine:

Plug in and let the battery charge to 100% without interruption.
Use the laptop on battery until it fully drains and shuts down.
Charge again to 100%.

This resets telemetry, allows proper handshake with the embedded controller, and ensures full functionality. It's compulsory after installing a new battery or performing a Windows reset.

Hey , I found one video fixing the same issues as mine except that, my battery is showing 2% but I believe the issue is same.

Some further advice to you, if you haven't solved this issue with your Nitro V15 laptop. The thing that happened to your V15 laptop "after I was working on my laptop with charging everything was normal and fine, but the electricity went out and my laptop instantly turned off too" is that your laptops charging rail has been affected by this power outage or the battery has been shorted and needs its fuse fixed, as the battery is also locked and needs resetting with a special tool called an NLBA1 tester.

If you have tried the V15s battery reset switch and it didn't reset the battery and made it charge to 100% and work fully in your V15 laptop, then try the 2nd solution of doing a Hard Reset, which I don't think that will do anything, as all that does is reset the EC, Chipset, Bios chips and reset CMOS, but it could be worth doing.

If the HR doesn't work, then your laptops has the following problems, see this you tube video, as it explains the battery fix in detail.

You have a locked battery which these batteries have a soldered fuse, and that fuse is blown and its locked the battery and that needs resoldering and resetting with a special battery tool called an NLBA1 PRO Laptop Battery Analyzer Tester to fix this issue and make the battery fully operational, as your V15 battery should be virtually brand new or a simpler solution, if its only the battery, is to buy a new battery. But it could be the below also, so buying a new battery will do nothing.
The other problem that the power outage did, is that it affected or shorted the main power rail and its charging phase internally, and needs pinpointing by an experienced technician.

With all the above 1-2 issues, you should take your laptop to an experienced technician to fix, as you need special tools and experience to fix. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Hi, the battery controller is locked and won't recover. A new battery is the only viable solution. No reset, software tool, or workaround will restore full charging or EC handshake. If the charging rail in your V15 laptop is faulty a new battery will do nothing, as it will not charge the new battery and will short the new battery fuse so you will waste money and the new battery, as it will need to be reset with the NLBA1 tester and its fuse resoldered. So consider that as your laptop needs to be completely analysed by a technician and the exact fault(s) fixed. Good luck.
